Designing fire protection beneath one of Sydney's busiest transport corridors required systems capable of performing under the demanding conditions of a live underground environment.

Detection, suppression and mechanical smoke control systems were carefully integrated to support passenger evacuation, emergency response and ongoing station operations. Complex interfaces between life safety systems were resolved to ensure reliable performance under both normal and emergency scenarios.
